Twisha’s Death Mystery Draws National Focus
Twisha Sharma, a former beauty pageant and model was found dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on 12th May 2026. Initially police classified her case as apparent suicide, claiming that her death happened due to hanging. However, the incident happened within few months of her marriage as she was married for around five months to Samarth Singh, which significantly drew attention towards the unnatural death of a woman.
Moreover, Trisha’s family also alleged her in-laws for mental and physical harassment and dowry demands after marriage. Her family questioned several aspects of investigation as well as claimed the administrative errors in handing the case. While showing dissatisfaction with the first report they demanded for the second postmortem examination at AIIMS Delhi and even refused to accept Trisha’s body to ensure forensic transparency.
Furthermore, the new evidences deepened the controversy as the CCTV footage reportedly showed Trisha going shortly upstairs, while the family members attempted CPR in other visuals. Another factor that led to suspicious was that Samarth Singh, her husband was missing after the incident and police announced the reward of 30,000 for providing any information related to him.
While the police still maintained that the available evidences indicate towards a suicide more than murder, but they also admitted the separate examination of certain procedural inconsistencies. The case has become a center of large debate on women’s safety, the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav himself stated to seek CBI investigation into matter.
