A Journey Into Your Own Strength- Childhood dream struggled it's way out after years of patience

Dr. Isha Kaur on Ambition, Resilience, Reinvention, and Answering Her True Calling

“Every Journey is a combination of lots of up's and down's. We seek  dependency on external sources but all the strength needed is already within us and we don't realize unless we go through certain stages of life. It comes down to how deeply we look inward, how diligently we pursue our ambitions, and how resilient we remain when life redirects our path.”

Some dreams materialize precisely as planned, while others unfold across an entirely unexpected course.

Growing up, I aspired to be a medical doctor. Despite dedicated preparation, I missed out on securing a competitive medical seat. At the time, it felt like the definitive end of that ambition. I could never have anticipated that decades later, the title “Dr.” would find its way back to my name in a way I had never envisioned.

Today, I am Dr. Isha Kaur, Gold Medalist in PhD (Tarot Science).

Not every dream unfolds the way we pictured it. As a child, I wanted one thing: to become a doctor. I missed the medical seat I was hoping for, and it felt like that dream was over. Years later, the title “Dr.” found its way back to my name — not through the door I had imagined. I am now Dr. Isha Kaurr, a Gold Medal recipient with a PhD in Tarot Science, and between that early ambition and today lie stints in fashion, tech, motherhood, over ten thousand cakes, and years learning Tarot. Changing direction doesn’t mean giving up on a dream — sometimes life just guides you there differently.

WHEN LIFE CHANGED THE ROUTE

My education never followed one straight line — Fashion Design at NIFT, a BCA through IGNOU, and an MBA at IMT Ghaziabad, plus early work with designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, which taught me discipline and attention to detail. Family responsibilities later made my career unrealistic, so I stepped away. It was hard, but I don’t stay staring at a closed door for long.

FROM FASHION TO 10,000 CAKES

That next door was in my own kitchen. I taught myself to bake, with no sense of where it might lead. What began as a hobby became a full profession — over ten thousand cakes, three years among the Top 25 Home Bakers in Delhi NCR, and sugar-art featured in Indian and international magazines. Custom work became my niche; the more far-fetched an idea, the more it excited me. Yet I sensed another side of myself still unexplored.

A LONG-LOST INTEREST CALLED TAROT

Tarot had quietly intrigued me for years, and curiosity turned into something bigger. Its 78 cards, I realised, were less about predicting tomorrow and more a map of human nature — our fears, choices, ambition, love, loss and change. I wanted to study it both academically and intuitively, so one course led to a Master’s, and eventually research.

“The little girl who dreamed of becoming a doctor eventually did — Dr. Isha Kaurr. Not through medicine, and not by the path she had planned. But somehow, life had held on to her dream for her.”

HEALING THE PERSON, NOT JUST READING THE CARDS

My work didn’t stop at Tarot. Talking to more people made it clear that human struggles rarely stay in one neat box — career, relationships, emotions and surroundings feed into one another. So I kept learning, and today I also practice as a Grandmaster-level Reiki healer, a Crystal Healer, a Numerologist and a Vastu consultant — complementary tools, not competing ones. People often just need to be heard without judgement. Each Reiki session is shaped around the individual, and clients often leave feeling lighter and clearer. I mentor people from twelve-year-olds to clients in their seventies, aiming to send them off with clarity, not dependence on Tarot.

A LITTLE MAGIC, CREATED WITH INTENTION

Another branch of my work is my own line of Magic Oils, part of Sacred Spreads by Isha — blends built around cleansing one’s aura, clearing mental clutter, sharpening focus, or lifting motivation, with intention driving the process, not just the ingredients. To me, “magic” starts when intention turns into action — which is why I treat Tarot, Reiki, Numerology, crystal work, Vastu and my oils as different tools aimed at the same goal: helping a person move through life with clarity.

THE SOUL IN MOTION

My time with Tarot eventually led to another dream — becoming an author. My first book, The Soul in Motion: A Cinematic Exploration of Tarot Archetypes Through the Eyes of the Fool, follows The Fool, Tarot’s eternal traveller, through archetypes of love, fear, ambition, loss and transformation. I see a bit of The Fool in each of us: we start out not knowing what’s ahead, we stumble, fall and rise, and every experience leaves us wiser. The book, on Amazon and Flipkart, is really about how our experiences shape who we become.

THE WOMAN BEHIND THE TITLES

Every achievement has a backstory rarely seen in full. People notice the Gold Medal, the PhD, the book — not the hard calls, the setbacks, the times I’ve had to start over. I’ve always been ambitious, but my children have come first, and balancing motherhood, family and my own identity has rarely been simple. Staying positive, to me, means asking, “This is hard, so what’s next?” I’ve paused, been exhausted, started over more than once — but giving up on myself was never an option.

SACRED SPREADS BY ISHA

Every strand of this journey now comes together under Sacred Spreads by Isha — Tarot, Numerology, Reiki, Crystal Healing, Vastu, mentoring and my Magic Oils, all aimed at making spirituality feel grounded in everyday life. My YouTube channel has grown to around 60,000 subscribers, and I connect with people on Instagram under the same name. The numbers are encouraging, but it’s messages like “Isha ma’am, I feel so much better now” that matter most, because my real subject has always stayed the same: the human being. My life feels like several lives stitched into one — a doctor-hopeful, a fashion student, a mother, a baker, a healer, an author, a mentor, and always a student of life.

“Our dreams call for determination. Positivity calls for action. Talent calls for discipline. And spirituality calls for authenticity.”

My childhood dream was to become a doctor. Life took its time — offering me several careers, thousands of cakes, Tarot, research, a book, a Gold Medal, and countless lessons before bringing me back to that dream. Today, I am Dr. Isha Kaurr. Never assume a dream is over just because life took a different route to get there.
