Dr. Sushama Rawat is a Professor and she did her research specializing in medicinal chemistry with a focus on cancer research. From an early age, she was fascinated by the complexities of the human body and the intricate mechanisms of disease. Her interest in medicinal chemistry was sparked during her undergraduate studies, where she was captivated by the potential of small molecules to intervene in cellular processes, particularly in cancer treatment. Dr. Sushama faces many challenges like not receiving funding and resources. She said, “Securing adequate funding in research and project management presents ongoing challenges”. She also faces challenges in maintaining work-life balance, as according to her finding a balance between professional and personal life is crucial to prevent burnout. 

Dr. Sushama has many awards winning first prize and the “Best Poster Presentation Award” at an International conference conducted by Zydus Research Centre, won first prize worth 10,000 Rs/- in the National Level Pharma Litereti Essay contest, published a book as a First Author entitled “Textbook of Biochemistry”.
