Sheetal Devi wins Para Archer of the year 2025
A 19year old, Sheetal Devi has honoured with “Para Archer of the Year 2025” by World Archery, a global award recognizing the best performing para- archer of the year. Her selection for the award was based on exceptional performances across multiple top- level competitions. This includes the World Para Archery Championship in Gwangju, South Korea. The achievement set her as a global pioneer in adaptive sports as she became the first female armless archer to achieve this.
Apart from this she won a bronze medal at the mixed team event. She has also won silver medals at 2022 Asian Para Games and the 2023 Asian Championships. In categories, like Emircan Haney from Turkey she won “Archer of the year” award, and Baptiste Addis from France she won the “Young Archer of the year” award.
For Sheetal Devi, winning the Para Archer of the year award, is not just her personal success but also a proud moment of India. She is an inspiration for many young athletes and shows that para- sports are growing and getting more recognition around the world.
