RCB lifts the throphy high embracing victory.

On Sunday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru were crowned with the desirable WPL 2026 trophy after winning the tense climax against the Delhi Capitals at Vadodara. With a daunting target of 204 runs, RCB came in with an amazing comeback and a magnificent 87 run innings by Smriti Mandhana was the deciding factor in the success of the team. It was a fast-paced goal bonanza with the intensity of the Women Premier League competition and competitiveness steadily rising.

Delhi Capitals had already set themselves a tough overall target of 203/4, and their top-order batters had contributed to it well. Richa Ghosh and Shafali Verma gave the team an early impetus and the middle order guaranteed that the team recorded one of the highest scores in a WPL final. But the Superstar of RCB was driven by a great deal of vital collaboration of 120 runs between Mandhana and Georgia Voll which kept the scoreboard running and strain on the bowlers of the Capitals. The violent nature of the stroke play of the duo, as well as the running between the wickets, made the game in the favor of RCB.

The bowlers also contributed towards saving crucial overs. Radha Yadav and Meghna Singh picked crucial wickets as they put Capitals under pressure and restricted them in the middle overs. Mandhana broke through the wire with 10 boundaries to his name and Voll backing him up with 55 runs, which meant that RCB crossed the finish line with 6 wickets and 2 balls to spare.

This is the second WPL championship of RCB that will solidify their image as one of the strongest teams in women T20 cricket. Delhi Capitals, in their turn, though making it to their fourth WPL final in a row, are still in pursuit of their maiden title, which should point to the consistency and heartbreak of the campaign.

On social media, the fans and lovers of cricket rejoiced over the victory of RCB and commended the spirit of fighting, tactical brilliance, and the performance of the players. This victory not only gives RCB another trophy to the cabinet, but also leaves a great example of how the future editions of the WPL should be. It will be remembered as an exciting battle of talent, will and spirit and establish the WPL as the increasingly popular women T20 tournament in India.
