Myntra former CEO Nandita Sinha as New CEO of Instamart Swiggy

Swiggy is one of India’s e-commerce most recognizable name to lead its quick commerce business. The company has announced new CEO as Nandita Sinha on Tuesday.

Nandita Sinha has emerged as one of the most influential leaders in India’s e-commerce industry. After successfully leading Myntra, she has now appointed Chief Executive Officer of Instamart, Swiggy’s quick commerce business. Stepping into a role that has become increasingly competitive as India's quick commerce space is going higher level.

Nandita Sinha takes the place of Amitesh Kumar Jha, who stepped down from the position on July 28, 2026. She arrives at Instamart carrying a track record that should reassure investors watching Swiggy's quick commerce ambitions closely. In her last role as Myntra CEO, Nandita led the platform to become India's largest fashion e-commerce business, continuing to gain market share in a highly-competitive market after achieving EBITDA profitability in 2024 not a small achievement in a category known for highly competitive.

The timing of her move is notable. Quick commerce in India has turned into one of the most highly contested battlegrounds in consumer field, where players racing to expand their store networks, tighten delivery times and widen product diversity, all while trying to make closer to profitability. Sinha now steps into that fight as one of its biggest players, tasked to guiding Instamart through what the company is calling its next phase of growth.

Reacting to the appointment, Sinha said “she was attracted to Instamart’s customer-first culture and the large opportunity ahead. she added. "Instamart sits at the heart of how India shops for its everyday needs, and I look forward to working with our colleagues, partners and consumers to shape its next chapter of growth.”

Nandita’s resume reads like a tour through some of India's most successive consumer businesses. Over 20+ years of experience in the consumer internal space, she has moved across fashion, e-commerce and FMCG, taking on leadership roles at Flipkart, Britannia and Hindustan Unilever before her switch to Myntra. That range of roles has left her with experience spanning business strategy, operations, brand building and scaling large consumer businesses across very different sectors. And profile like this Swiggy appears to be banking on as it looks to sharpen Instamart's operational execution and competitive edge.

An alumna of the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, and the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi, Sinha has built a reputation in the industry where she is recognized for her customer-focused approach and operational execution as her leadership style.

At Instamart, that reputation will now be tested on a new front. Swiggy has said Sinha will continue building on the platform's differentiated assortment strategy and existing growth momentum, while sharpening its customer focus and pushing further on profitability essentially doubling down on the playbook that has driven Instamart's expansion, but with an eye toward making the unit economics work harder. The company added that she is expected to strengthen operational excellence at the platform as it looks to hold and grow its position in a quick commerce market that continues to evolve rapidly.

Swiggy Group CEO Sriharsha Majety didn't hold back in his assessment of the hire, calling Sinha one of India's most accomplished consumer internet leaders and pointing to the strong vision, customer obsession and operational rigour she brings to the company — qualities he suggested make her well suited to lead Instamart through its next stage.

For her part, Sinha reiterated her enthusiasm for the road ahead, saying she looks forward to working closely with the Instamart team, its partners and its consumers as the platform enters its next chapter.

With quick commerce now firmly established as one of the most closely watched — and heavily contested — corners of India's digital economy, Sinha's appointment signals that Swiggy is looking to bring proven, large-scale consumer leadership to Instamart at a moment when execution, not just ambition, will likely which players come out ahead.
