From Textiles to Transport: The quiet power of Nisha Singh
It is the success story of someone who walks into a new industry, learn from scratch, earns its trust, and does it again, and again. The journey of Nisha Singh.
Over two decades, she has built the career that cuts across textile, beverages, food, and logistics- through clear vision and dedication. Each step was a deliberate choice to grow, to be challenged, and to reinvent herself without ever losing the thread of who she is.
Where the story begins
Her journey started at LNG Bhilwara Group, one of the most respected names in textile industry. It was here, among fabrics and heritage, Nisha discovered something important: marketing is not about product. It is about stories. Who makes something, why it matters, and how it fits into someone life. That lesson, learned early, become the foundation of everything that followed.
From textiles, she moved into FMCG- Varun Beverages. Here the education was different. Millions of consumers, complex distribution method, data at every stage. she discovered how numbers influence instinct and shape everyday choices, offering her a deep understanding of consumer psychology in real life.
“A challenging yet beautiful journey of continuous learning and reinvention.”
Tradition meets modern customer
Then come Bikanervala, the beloved food brand that carries decades of cultural memories in its name. at Bikanervala, Nisha faced one of her most interesting challenge: how do you bring traditional brand into digital age without stripping away what makes it beloved? Her answer was CRM and customer centric strategies- that place the individual at the center of the decision. It was listening to the customer not just speaking to them.
Today, Nisha leads as General Manager- Marketing and Corporate Communications at Transport Corporation of India Limited (TCIL). Her role here is different from past designations. Logistics is an industry built on reliability and trust.
She works on shaping the company’s narrative, strengthening its voice in industry conversations, and driving a wide spectrum of marketing and corporate communication initiatives from brand positioning, media relations, digital presence, CRM and stakeholder engagement to thought leadership campaigns, in-house publications, road safety advocacy and sustainable logistics initiatives. It is purpose-driven work that suits her perfectly.
The habit behind her journey
What carried her for 20 years and four industries she does not reach for complicated answers, she says: consistency, showing up, doing the work and trusting the process even when the results are slow. She has had to prove herself in every new environment she has entered rather than finding that exhausting, she founded that as confidence- building. Each new challenge become a proof that she can handle the next one.
She has a clear view of success truly means. Not applause or recognition but by true hard work that speaks itself. The kind of impact that does not need to be on bulletin.
“Working so hard that your work speaks for itself.”
Message to next generation
Her thoughts about today’s workplace conversations- particularly around hustle culture, which has become the contested subject among young professionals. She does not dismiss Gen Z’s push for purpose and balance. In fact, she respects it. “Today’s generation values purposes and growth, they respect experience when it adds real valve to them.”
She shares one lesson from her journey for youth that is Patience. Not a passive kind but the active discipline of trusting a process that does not show immediate results.
“Step out of comfort, that’s where real growth begins.”
Breaking the stereotype
There is one stereotype Nisha wants to break: the belief that a woman’s personal choices, whether about her career or marriage, determine her strength or capability. To her empowerment is not about choices made in certain way. It is far similar and more powerful: “The freedom to speak, be heard, and make an impact”. The definition just asks for a seat at the table, and ability to use it.
Twenty years in, still learning and still stepping out.
