“I wasn’t drawn to engineering in the typical way,” says Dr. Rasna, who currently serves as the Senior Technology Manager at Carrier Technologies, specializing in Advanced Commercial Solutions. Her passion for problem-solving, blended with her father’s unyielding belief in education, shaped her foundation. A mechanical diploma holder and National Aerospace Laboratory (NAL) professional himself, her father’s words still resonate:

“Every woman needs the highest education she can acquire to survive in difficult times and fight the society.”

That advice did not fall on deaf ears. From a conservative background but raised in a cosmopolitan environment, Rasna defied norms and forged her path. Armed with a degree in Electronics & Communication, she pursued higher education alongside her career, including a Ph.D. in AI/ML-Computer Vision from IIT Hyderabad, an M.S in Software Systems from BITS Pilani, and an Executive PG in Strategic Management from IIM Kozhikode.

Dr. Rasna’s career reads like a compelling novel of grit and growth. From Systems and Software Engineer to AI/Data Science India Lead, from Quality Specialist to Aerospace Certification Specialist, R&D and entrepreneurial roles, her journey has been nothing short of dynamic. She has worked with industry titans such as Honeywell, Eaton, and NAL, spanning roles in hardware, firmware, software, multi-disciplinary, systems, IoT, and product innovation.

Despite the technical rigor, Rasna’s human side shines through. “My journey through the corporate realm has been immensely enriching,” she says, recalling the lessons in empathy and cultural appreciation learned from her global work experiences.

She attributes much of her ability to navigate personal and professional commitments to her family. “Motherhood and marriage transformed me,” she admits. “My spouse and children are my greatest pillars of strength.”
