Agnimitra Paul gains early lead in Bengal Polls

 

The West Bengal elections 2026 are near conclusion with the voting taking place on 4th May 2026 after the intense competition between Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and All India Trinamool Congress (TMC). During the elections the number of high-profile constituencies are being watched closely as the results would be crucial to determine the future of political power in the state.

Despite multiple candidates contesting, BJP and TMC remains as the main fight among which the most important contestants for Asansol Dakshin constituency Agnimitra Paul stands out as the BJP’s key contestant while facing Tapas Banerjee. The elections also witnessed controversies and incidents as her campaign faced security issues. Her car was targeted to attack with stones during polling which raises safety concerns and election violence. While she still stands strong to ensure the win despite all such situation.
