Shalini Passi Opens Up About Shaving Her Head at Tirupati and Her Unique Approach to Style

New Delhi: Shalini Passi, the Delhi-based art collector and philanthropist who has recently become a favorite on the internet, revealed a surprising personal detail in a recent interview with NDTV's Arun Singh. The star of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives shared that she has shaved her head multiple times, including on four separate occasions at the famous Tirupati temple.

During the conversation, Shalini spoke about her approach to fashion and how it connects to her cultural background. She explained that her style is influenced by her Sikh heritage, where cutting hair is traditionally avoided. "In North India, most of us are Sikhs, and we don't cut our hair. So when we don’t cut our hair, how do you make it look different every day? By using hairbands, clips, flowers, jhumkas, tiaras—whatever you can," Shalini said.

On the topic of shaving her head, Shalini shared that it was an act of devotion and selflessness. "Even for me, when I shaved my hair at Tirupati, I did it four times. I don’t want to style my hair too much because, ultimately, I’ll donate it," she explained. Her last head shave was in 2018, and in 2021, she and her husband, Sanjay Passi, made a generous donation of ?10 crore to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.

Shalini, who has been married to Sanjay Passi since 2000, is known for her philanthropic work and contributions to the art world.

She joined the cast of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives for its third season, which introduces her alongside Riddhima Kapoor Sahani and Kalyani Saha Chawla. The series offers a peek into the glamorous lives of star wives, including Seema Sajdeh, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Pandey, and Neelam Kothari. The show blends real-life drama with scripted moments, and the new season brings a playful Delhi vs Mumbai dynamic, with Shalini Passi representing the capital.
