India’s film “Santosh” Shortlisted for “Best International Feature Film”

“Santosh” Film directed by Sandhya Suri and starring Shahana, has officially been shortlisted in the category of “Best International Feature Film”. Out of 85 movies, 15 movies have been shortlisted for this category, and “Santosh” was one of them. The movie also premiered at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in May 2024 and was very well received by critics. 

 

From India Kiran Rao's film “Laapataa Ladies” also was the official entry to the Oscar in the category “Best Foreign Language Film”, but it was further not shortlisted in this category. So, from India only “Santosh” was shortlisted, this movie was about the young widow inspector Santosh, who finds herself caught up in institutional corruption.
