Ravleen Varghese Walks Victoria's Secret Runway in LA

On the evening of October 18, on the set of a sound stage at Sony Pictures Studios located in Culver City, a tall young lady from Kerala made her runway debut at one of the most-watched fashion runways in the world. Ravleen Varghese was among Luíza Perote and Malika El Maslouhi in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2026, and owing to the time difference, the fans in India woke up on October 19 to see her in wings. Within hours, news sites back home were calling her a Kerala model on the world’s most famous lingerie stage. The headlines make sense when you can feel pride for them, and everyone’s curious about who she really is.

Ravleen is from Kodumon, Kerala. Models.com mentions that she is an American-Kerala model, born on September 12, and is tall, measuring 181 cm. According to Indian sources, she first came into the limelight in Delhi before making her debut at New York Fashion Week last year. Other than this, she hasn’t given much information about herself, and that is the reason this is a fresh event for us. We are meeting her at the beginning of her journey.

From Kodumon to a Los Angeles Soundstage

What she has said about her work is quieter than you might expect from someone who has just walked a show this size. In her brief Models.com bio, she says that modeling was no longer just about being someone’s vision of a model but that it was a process by which she discovered herself. This is quite an insightful observation for a young model to make, especially when it comes to dealing with bright lights, heavy makeup, and an audience. From backstage pictures of her taken for WWD, she appears as she is prepping, with half her black hair still in rollers.

She passed her night out with models such as Adriana Lima and Candice Swanepoel, who had been regulars on their shows, as well as Barbara Palvin and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who were walking down the same runway. For a newcomer to the above list of models, one doesn’t have much chance of nerves. The photographs show her holding her own beside far more experienced women, and for a debut that is about as much as anyone can ask.

The show itself carries some baggage worth remembering. Victoria’s Secret cancelled it in 2019 after heavy criticism that it favoured a narrow, uniform look, and after its lowest ratings ever. It came back in 2024 promising a wider idea of beauty, and every new face on the runway now gets read, fairly or not, as part of that promise. Ravleen walked into that conversation without having any say in how it started. What she controlled was the walk itself.

Why Indian Models at Victoria’s Secret Still Feel Like News

Indian faces on this particular runway have been rare. However, girls from places like Kodumon who had been made aware that international modeling is not for them now have a concrete example of a woman from their own state posing at the center of the frame. Representation usually operates in such tangible ways, long before statistics come into play. Counting Indian models at Victoria’s Secret has not required many fingers, and that scarcity is exactly why a single debut draws so much attention.

It is worth being honest about what one runway can and cannot do. A debut does not change an industry, and nobody can say yet what Ravleen’s next bookings will look like or whether this night becomes a turning point or simply a bright memory. We will be watching to see where Ravleen goes next, and She Inspires Magazine will keep telling the stories of women who step onto big stages and make them feel a little closer for everyone watching from home. Every new achievement subtly proves the point that talent is universal, although world-class venues do sometimes take time to let everyone in. To see someone like yourself, who speaks your own language and comes from the same cultural background, take the world stage can change everything instantly. Dreams become real and tangible, and there is no limit to what you can do when ambition does not ask for anyone’s permission.
