India Can Lift the Women’s ODI World Cup Says Sneh Rana
Indian all-rounder Sneh Rana has shown full faith in the team's World Cup championship bid as ODI World Cup 2025 begins on September 30 in Guwahati. Co-hosts India Women ODI squad will take on Sri Lanka in the inaugural match, and Rana announced that the players are prepared to offer their best and claim the country's first ever ODI World Cup title.
Rana admitted that competing on home soil brings its own challenges but stressed that the team is motivated to make history. “It’s going to be both interesting and challenging since we’re playing in front of our own crowd. It feels very special. For Harman didi (Harmanpreet Kaur), it’s even more meaningful as she has been leading and inspiring the team for many years. Our major aim is to include the World Cup in our cabinet," said Rana, indicating her faith in India Women ODI team.
Senior all-rounder Deepti Sharma also underscored the significance of the tournament for head coach Amol Muzumdar, who is leading the team for the first World Cup. She stated, "Even in bilateral series, the idea of the World Cup remains in our mind. This being Amol sir's first World Cup makes it even more special." Deepti also stated that the experience of playing in front of home fans would infuse tremendous energy into the team.
At the same time, Rana and wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh thanked the Women's Premier League (WPL) for enhancing their capabilities. Rana opined that exposure to international players and coaches at WPL has introduced them to new tactics and methods of handling critical match situations. Ghosh also mentioned that imitation of overseas players' planning techniques has provided her with an advantage during play.
With increasing experience, robust preparation, and home backing, Sneh Rana assured of India's Women ODI aspiration of winning the ODI World Cup 2025 never looked more potent, and it has become a top highlight in Women cricket India news.
