Geeta Tandale: A Beacon of Hope in Education

 

Mrs. Geeta Tandale's story is a powerful reminder of the human spirit's resilience and the transformative power of education. Her journey from a visually impaired to a Deputy Education Officer and social worker is a beacon of hope and inspiration for many. Geeta's unwavering determination to overcome personal and professional obstacles, coupled with her dedication to helping others, exemplifies the profound impact one individual can have on society.

This article tells about her work, her challenges after she got disabled, and despite her disability, she continued helping people in various factors. This proves that one should be mentally strong to change society.

Introduction:

Smt.Geeta Yogiraj Tandale, also known as Mrs. Geeta Udayakumar Bhavsar, proves anything is possible if you put your whole heart and dedication into it. Currently, she is a Deputy Education Officer Class 02 Gazetted Officer in Zilla Parishad Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Primary Division from 2023. She believes that she can change the lives of many, and for this, she helped many orphan students with their studies, also she assisted many disabled people in their necessary office work and helped them to get married.

Mrs. Geeta did her schooling at Gyandeep Vidyalaya. Parli Vaijanath Dist Beed and Shivaji College Parbhani. She also did her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Saraswati Bhuvan Arts College of Commerce Aurangabad. After that, she focused on a Bachelor of Library and Information Science degree from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. She completed her Bachelor of Education from Government Teachers College, Ambejogai. After completing her bachelor's, she pursued her master's, Master of Education from Doctor Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Sub Center Osmanabad. She also earned her (MA) Master of Arts from Vivekananda College Aurangabad in 2008, and currently, she is pursuing PhD in subject education. 

Challenges and Achievements:

Mrs. Geeta had a disability of having No Vision in One Eye and a 9 Number in another Eye, she had an accident at the age of 11 and in that accident, she lost sight in one eye, for this, she faced many difficulties in her education that she could not read because of her sight, still, she overcame this disability of her and continued her education.

Initially after completing her bachelor's and master's, she got a low-paid job which she regretted and then she decided to get a government job. After a year of hard work, she got a job in Government Service at Government Teachers College, Hadgaon District, Nanded. After that, she focused on cracking MPSC(Maharashtra Public Service Commission). After some failure, she finally cracked it in the year 2022. In 2023 she was appointed as Deputy Education Officer through Maharashtra Public Service Commission and joined this post.

Over time she received many awards and recognition for her work. Some of include:

  1. All India Bhavsar Kshatriya Mahasabha Maharashtra State Honored with the Hirkani 2023 Award for excellence in social work and education on the occasion of International Women's Day. 
  2. Ambulance Help Riders and The Kesh Group in association with Women of Achievement Awards 2023. 
  3. State Level Meritorious Teacher Guru Gaurav Shikar Ratna Award 2023 by Manpower Development Lokseva Academy 
  4. Teacher honor on Teacher's Day by Savitribai Phule Women's Unitary Development Board and Guruvarya Lahuji Salve Health Center, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar 
  5. Awarded Bhavsar Ratna in the year 2024 Received awards from many different organizations. Important awards are mentioned above.

Personal Insights:

Mrs. Geeta also works as a social worker, her work mainly focuses on:

  1. Providing educational assistance to needy students. 
  2. Assisting disabled people in their necessary office work.
  3. To provide necessities to orphan boys and girls. 
  4. To provide information about suitable places for treatment to the surviving children and take them there on occasion 
  5. To guide the students regarding careers.
  6. Admitting road accident victims to the nearest hospital for early treatment. Trying to save their lives. 7) Helping brides and grooms in the community to match each other in group marriages.
  7. Helping marriages of disabled people. 
  8. Counseling in the Women's Security Committee. 
  9. Helped to raise the educational standard of the beggar children by including them in the educational stream. 
  10. Helped the educated unemployed to stand on their own feet by providing vocational guidance according to their educational qualification.

Apart from social work, she is also interested in music and she cultivated it to date. She also advises students regarding their careers. Due to her disability, she won’t be able to read books but she read Different reference books related to the study. She also guides B.ed chaperones regarding student services, and counseling students while choosing professional courses.

Impact and Vision:

Mrs. Geeta has been dedicated to performing social work which can impact society in a good way, for this she has donated funds to Narayan Seva Sanstha Udaipur, Rajasthan, Bhagwan Baba Balikashram Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Government Medical Hospital fruit distribution. She also cares for nature so for this she Individual or collective plantations of more than 150 in number.

She is also interested in writing. She wrote a research paper for the international magazine, titled Royal, in this maxim Research Paper Publish on “Inculcating the habit of reading invitational reading materials in regular second-year trainees of DEd and Galaxy link, ISSN-2319-8508 an international multidisciplinary half-yearly research general in this research paper published on the role of librarian in the development of reading ability of secondary level students.

Conclusion:

Even though she has a difficult life, she believes that the greatest satisfaction lies in making your life useful to someone. She says “No one was there when we needed people and we started doing social work to be useful to someone”. She advises the young generation to start helping others with small and big tasks while still in school and later doing many things in social work. Courage was created and it is still doing many things like educational work, career guidance to students, marriage matching of brides and grooms, and women safety committee counseling.
