Ms. Shraddha Vyas, M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Osmania University with distinction and CSIR-NET qualified, is the founder of "APPEDIET," an online Nutrition and Wellness consultation firm. PGCCN from National Institute of Nutrition-Indian Council of Medical Research (NIN-ICMR). With a CPD certification in "Nutrition and Weight Management Essentials" from the College of Contemporary Health, London, she specializes in addressing weight loss, Diabetes, PCOD, Thyroid, Perimenopause, Menopause, and more.
Ms. Vyas emphasizes an integrated holistic approach. As an Assistant Professor, actively involved in teaching and guiding research projects for over 15 years, she conducts nutrition workshops, and certificate courses, and contributes to media platforms through webinars, TV, and (AIR) All India Radio on health-related topics. Routinely involved in giving talks on various Nutrition-related topics at Assimilate, Medvaristy, and Apollo Hospitals.
Challenges and Achievements:
Shraddha Vyas was always involved in good learning and academics since her childhood. She faced lots of health challenges as she reached her college life when she was 19 years old, as a consequence she had to undergo two major spine surgeries in her life with lots of pain and distress. But these health challenges could not deter her from attaining her goals. In spite of her spine surgery, she managed to procure 4th rank in University in her B.Sc. Final year in 2000. As she faced these severe health challenges, she realized the value of health and nutrition in life and these things triggered her to pursue deep learning and education in field of nutrition.
Another biggest challenges she faced during her journey towards success in field of nutrition was the unwillingness (to the extent of stubbornness in certain cases) of persons in changing their lifestyle or food habits to achieve better health and fitness. There seems to be lack of awareness in persons pertaining to their health, food choices and lifestyle habits. It requires lot of perseverance, counselling, commitment and patience as a nutritionist, health and wellness coach in motivating and guiding the persons during their health and wellness journey and achievement of health and fitness goal.
She was awarded with Global award for outstanding contribution in field of nutrition, at Women Entrepreneurs and Educators, Icons of Asia Award, July 2023.
National Award for Best Dietitian of the Year in 2023, at National Healthcare and wellness awards in July 2023.
Best oral presentation award at 7th International conference on food and nutrition by USFN held on 29th &30th June, 2024 at Corus Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Research Presentation on “Role of seed cycling and traditional Indian foods in treatment of PCOD in adolescent girls” won the best paper award in International Conference on Gender Equality and Women Empowerment (ICGWE) in ‘Women health category’ on 8th March 2023 held by Pune Vidyarthi Griha’s College of Engineering and Technology and G.K. Pate Institute of Management.

Certified in Health and Wellness coaching from Weljii institute in collaboration with Health care sector and skill Council (HSSC) under Ministry of Ayush. Furthermore, she holds certification as a Diabetes Educator from NDEP.
Her research paper on “Cassia tora and its role in treating Alzheimer’s Disease” was awarded as best oral presentation at “7th International Conference on Food and nutrition” held on 29th &30th June, 2024 at Corus Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Her research paper on Neuro-nutrition was awarded as best presentation in 6th International conference by USFN, FEB 2024.
Another milestone in the journey of Ms.Shraddha Vyas, within the field of nutrition and wellness, is she has authored the book, "Nutrition Intervention for Disease Prevention: An Applied Perspective", which is designed specifically for nutrition students, practicing dietitians, and researchers, this book aims to provide practical insights and strategies for disease prevention through nutrition intervention. Personal Insights:
Shraddha Vyas strongly believe in striking a good balance between career and personal life. She does not believe in overdoing or over emphasize things, and do not carry work into my personal space. Spending quality time with your loved ones, vacations, spending time alone in nature, giving time for valuable reflections on self, journalling, yoga and meditation are the things which refuel my energy and keep me going.
She firmly believe in adapting an integrative and holistic approach to attain good health and wellbeing. There are absolutely no quick fixes or short cuts when it comes to achieving good health. She does not endorse any kind of processed foods or potions, artificial supplements to bring down weight loss and promote of sticking to natural traditional food patterns when it comes to attaining good health. Alongside these nutritional modifications, emotional health, sleep and stress management also play a major role in bringing good health.
Impact and Vision:
Being consistent, updated with latest research and advancements in the field of nutrition and healthcare is a must. Attending different conferences, panel discussions, seminars, webinars and workshops keeps me well aware of the latest research in the field. Continual learning by joining different short course or training programs in the field also help me keep abreast with my subject.
India is fast emerging in field of health care with lots of advancement in field of health sciences and medicines. Personalized nutrition, precision medicine and advancements in field of nutrigenomics are really emerging to provide better methods and tools to achieve better goals and targets in field of healthcare. Functional nutrition and functional medicine are a new arena in prevention and treatment of lifestyle diseases which is currently fast emerging in India. Fit India movement, Khelo India, Poshan Abhiyaan, (National Nutrition Mission) Anemia Mukta Bharat , PM POshan Shakti Nirman (PM-POSHAN) and Child Nutrition, Vitamin A fortification scheme, to name a few, are some of the very efficient health schemes launched by Govt of India to boost healthcare in India. Development of various health policies, health schemes by National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) are really helping in development of fortified foods, fighting malnutrition, anemia in India.
Conclusion:
Her advice to young women in healthcare would be-‘Be very clear with your core concepts related to your field of interest’. Always be well equipped with real and authentic knowledge, concepts and data in your approach towards treating your patients. Patience and perseverance are two key pillars for success. NEVER GO FOR QUICK FIXES OR FAD DIETS, OR SHORT CUTS. When it comes to attain good health really there are no short cuts! Never give up!”
