Dress up your confidence - Bannya Basu

In order to succeed in life, you don't need to look like a supermodel, but you do have to take care of how you look.A person's physical appearance goes beyond looks to include clothing, grooming , ettiquette and of course self-confidence.

You can take the following steps to improve your appearance and boost your confidence at the same time:

  • Get Confident With Your Outfit “Clothing is the first step to building a character”-Sylvester Stallone.
  • Dressing up has a significant impact on the way you feel , act and speak about yourself.
  • Fashion doesn't have to be modern to ooze confidence. You can wear something old-fashioned and still stand out.
  • Well-fitted clothes are the key to looking good. A poorly-fitted suit may give others the impression that you're not ready for work, whereas people without a well-fitted suit may feel unconsciously that they do not fit into their workplace.
  • Comfort should always come first. You will not be able to focus on your work if you are not wearing clothes that make you feel comfortable.
  • You do not need to be perfect to look confident. Look good by highlighting your best features. Just a touch of style and fashion sense will do.

Grooming regularly boosts confidence “Grooming is the secret of real elegance. The best clothes, the most wonderful jewels, the most glamorous beauty don’t count without good grooming.”— Christian Dior.

The key to building confidence is to take care of yourself on a continual basis. Both men and women can increase their self-confidence by making small changes to their personal grooming. Grooming habits are easy to overlook. Typically, these treatments don't take more than a few minutes and can leave you feeling amazing and glowing.

The Power of Good Manners “Good Manners open doors that the best education cannot”-Clarence Thomas.

Leadership is associated with manners, courtesy, etiquette, or civility. Positivity comes from your ability to make every situation easier for people and take the initiative to make everyone feel at ease. Positivity is a result of self-confidence. Today, etiquette and civility can be seen as snobbish. Some people consider polite behavior a sign of weakness, and others believe that being gracious and polite won't help you reach the top. Neither of these is true. Empower yourself by knowing how and when to ask for what you want.

Don't hold back. In spite of feelings of intimidation or nervousness, speaking confidently can help you get around these obstacles. Make sure you are clear and specific about what you want or need, then you ask for it. Make sure you jot down a reminder or rehearse your request before making your request. Self-Esteem Through Body Language “Your Body Language shapes who you are”-Amy Cuddy Practice confident body language, even if you aren't feeling confident, to increase your self-esteem.

Here are few  tips on how body language can boost your confidence:

  • Maintain eye contact to appear confident. A good eye contact demonstrates your interest and comfort levels. Try looking at a spot near the person's eyes if direct eye contact feels too intimidating.
  • Maintain a straight posture. Sit up straight! When people are anxious, they tend to take up as little space as possible, which can mean slumping over in a protective pose. Straighten your back, relax your shoulders, and uncross your arms and legs.
  • Your chin should be up. Looking down while you walk is a good idea. Are you always looking down? Look forward instead. Though this pose may seem unnatural at first, you will eventually become more comfortable with it.

True confidence comes from overcoming new challenges. Consider trying new things, meeting new people, and experiencing new things both professionally and personally. You will never know what you are capable of if you never push yourself. Confidence never allows failure to derail you. Failure isn't the worst outcome, the worst outcome is missing a chance to achieve their goals.
