Dr. Megha Shah: Pioneering Garbhsanskar and Transforming Lives

Introduction:

Dr. Megha Rajanikant Shah is a well-known gynecologist with MBBS and DGO degrees, having a brilliant 27-year-old career in medicine. She is a pioneering coach for Garbhsanskar and the founder of Tathhastu, an organization devoted to nurturing happiness through proud parenting. The life journey of Dr. Shah is a saga of relentless pursuit for updated knowledge, compassion for social work, and empowerment of parents and children.

From an early age, Dr. Shah was influenced by Mother Teresa and wanted to do something worthwhile for society. The initial activities of social work, such as recording audio books for blind children and teaching slum children, set the base of her life's mission of serving others. "Learning and educating is my passion," she says with emphasis, summing up what inspires her in every act.

It has been a very eventful career with many challenges and high achievements. Other than routine practice as an obstetrician-gynecologist at Aangan Maternity Hospital and Faith Multi-speciality Hospital, Ahmedabad, she had led some very impactful projects.

One of her prominent works is the Adolescence Education Program, where more than 5,000 adolescent students in government schools were informed. Understanding the requirement of knowledge at doorsteps, she prepared 105 libraries in the ESIS government hospitals and dispensaries, which were inaugurated by then Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

She worked in maternal health, where more than 500 rural traditional birth attendants were trained in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh to conduct deliveries hygienically and safely. It was undertaken in association with NGOs like Mahiti and Chetana and Dr Laxmi Iyengar, wife of Dr Sudarshan Iyengar, vice-chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith.

She has run an infertility OPD in the tribal area of Dharampur for more than a decade, associated with ARCH NGO, to render necessary services to the needy and underprivileged.

She founded Tathhastu in 2016 to promote scientific Garbhsanskar and confident parenting. In 12 years, it educated more than 250,000 parents who now stand confidently knowledgeable while parenting their children.

Personal Insights

The personal experiences of Dr. Shah in Garbhsanskar have influenced her professional work to a great extent. She has been practicing Garbhsanskar and prenatal development activities during her pregnancies, which showed miraculous results in her children. One daughter, Tarjanee Bhadla, is the leading actress in the Gujarati film industry and a CEPT University graduate. Another graduate in aerospace engineering, her son is also a good musician and is under training to become a pilot.

"It was when I started seeing the benefits of Garbhsanskar in my children that the need to spread awareness about this scientific approach arose," she clarifies. At first, she targeted her patients and friends from families. After that, in 2012, with some doctor friends and association with Children's University Gandhinagar, she founded Tapovan Sansodhan Kendra. The movement grew into what is today called Tathhastu. It was founded by her with Paras Parmar in the year 2016 to share Garbhsanskar knowledge around the globe.

Impact and Vision

She says that the most prominent and big success of Dr. Shah's life is the upbringing of her children. "Though I am a successful professional doctor, earning lots of name and fame, my most significant achievement is that both of my kids are very talented and good human beings," she says. Her capacity for balancing a demanding career with bringing up children who imbued talents and values is really admirable.

Of course, the biggest challenge Dr. Shah faces is time management. Being a single mom, she has to juggle her responsibilities between home and work while striving to give back to society. "I work 16 hours a day and still feel if the day had 48 hours, that would be good," she remarks. She still manages to stick to her values of trying to make the world a happier place amidst all the hustle and bustle. She works relentlessly towards this end, with the motto "Loka Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu," which literally means May all beings in the world be happy.

Dr. Shah's work has been highly recognized, with her receiving the Page 3 Awards 2024 for some innovative work and the Best Institute Award in the year 2022, to mention but a few. But with all this, she frankly shared the challenge of personal life and balancing the same with work. "I am highly ambitious, perfectionist, and workaholic," she confesses, confessing the occasional complaint from her children. She has instituted "date days" with her kids wherein she can be with them without work intruding to nurture a sense of togetherness.

Conclusion:

Dr. Megha Rajanikant Shah's leadership style is one of collective growth and development. She hires counselors who were formerly housewives with no professional experience and grooms them to be compassionate and understanding for pregnant ladies. "They are the true assets of my firm," she proudly states. Until today, through Tathhastu, she continues to enlighten planning and pregnant couples on the best practices for their child's development both before birth and after birth.

Finally, she leaves us with three quotations that sum up her philosophy: "The mother's womb is the first school of the child," "If you think you can, you can, because God only says Tathaastu," and "What you give, you receive."

It is in as unique a field as Garbhsanskar and parenting coaching that Dr. Shah has found her calling. "It gives you name, fame, money, and the utmost satisfaction of serving society," she says. Her journey stands as a glittering example of how one individual's dedication to learning and educating can transform lives and create that ripple effect of positive change in society.
