Archana Gupta Breaks Barriers Becomes Second Woman Chief in Haryana

 

Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) has appointed Archana Gupta as the president of its Haryana state unit while replacing the former Haryana BJP chief Mohan Lal Badoli. The announcement of her appointment was made during the organizational restructuring of party ahead of future political and electoral representation of states.

Her appointment is significant as she now becomes a second woman to head Haryana BJP in the history of more than 40 years. The development is being discussed largely as an important move to increase women representation in a state like Haryana which is often politically dominated by male candidates. Archana Gupta has also been a radiologist before becoming an active candidate in politics as well as she had earlier served as the state’s general secretary in Haryana BJP.
