Startup India and DPIIT Partner with Womennovator to Boost Women-Led Startups

In an effort to reach innovators in more than 100 districts, Startup India and DPIIT have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Womennovator (Griksh Foundation) as part of a significant push for women-led entrepreneurship. This collaboration highlights the growing focus on empowering women through startups in India and aims to unleash local talent while supporting the country’s upcoming generation of female-led companies through district-level hackathons, investor access via WePitch, and mentorship through WeNEST.

By delivering structured mentorship through the WeNEST program, granting investor access through the WePitch series, and promoting gender-inclusive hackathons and challenges around India, this partnership strengthens women-led businesses while aligning with key Government programs for women-led startups in India.

The overall objective is to create more opportunities, particularly at the local level, so that women can confidently start and grow their own businesses. As part of the WeNEST program, the project will provide organized mentorship to assist female entrepreneurs and support the Womennovator initiative for female-led startups.

Connecting with investors will be made easier for women through the WePitch series, which further contributes to women entrepreneurship and startup funding in India. At the local level, the alliance is set to expand access to resources and foster opportunities for women innovators across more than 100 districts. Women’s engagement and innovation will continue to be encouraged through gender-neutral hackathons and competitions.
