HCL Chairperson Roshni Nadar Malhotra Named India’s Richest Woman at 44

Based on the latest M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025, Roshni Nadar Malhotra, HCL Technologies Chairperson, has been declared India's richest woman. This is not just a personal milestone for her but also a first in history since she is the sole woman to be included in the top three places of the list. At a mere 44 years old, Roshni and her family topped the third position with estimated wealth of ?2.84 lakh crore.
Her success is not confined to India alone. In the Hurun Global Rich List 2025, published earlier this year, she was featured as the fifth richest woman in the world, cementing her position among international business leaders. Roshni Nadar Malhotra, with a Communications degree from Northwestern University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management, succeeded her father Shiv Nadar as HCL Chairperson in July 2020. She has been guiding the $12 billion IT services and consulting behemoth ever since with wisdom and leadership.
Apart from her business success, Roshni is also a vocal promoter of philanthropy and women empowerment in India. Thanks to the Shiv Nadar Foundation, she has helped create some of the top schools and colleges in the country, ensuring that no child be denied access to high quality education. To support wildlife and the environment, she donates to The Habitats Trust.
Her position on the Hurun List indicates the power of women's business influence, emerging from the women's disruptions of Falguni Nayar, co-founder of Nykaa, and Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, of Biocon. Roshni Nadar Malhotra is among the most inspirational women in India. She uses her money, vision and philanthropy to balance her commitment to running a business with her social responsibilities.
