Alia Bhatt India next super spy: Alpha teaser sets the Internet into fire

The YRF Spy Universe just got its first female face, and she is nothing short of electrifying.

Bollywood most beloved Spy Universe has a new recruit- and this time she’s is a woman. the teaser of Alpha starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari dropped on June 10 2026, marking it as a Spy Universe’s first female – led action thriller. Within hours the teaser has taken over Internet from Instagram reels to reddit threads and the conversation shows no signs of slowing down.

What’s in the Alpha teaser?

Alpha teaser begins with Sita and Baba sharing on her 18^th birthday- only for Baba to hand her a small box, gifting her first- ever spy mission on the special occasion, as soon as she becomes an adult.  We then see Sita (Alia Bhatt) takes on an army of men, dismantling them one by one, even visibly enjoying the process. She’s not just a spy, but a killing machine. “Happy Birthday,” a smiling Baba tells Sita, as she smiles back before casually shooting a man in the head.

 The Teaser shows that Bobby Deol character has trained Sita from childhood for this mission.  An Alpha tattoo marked on her forearm becomes a recurring symbol throughout the clip, tying into the central theme: Bobby belief that “a wolf daughter will be a wolf”.

Rather than the usual spy films, Alpha goes for gritter, nocturnal visual style. The film skips traditional romantic tropes entirely and driven by the origin story assassins raised to kill.

A historic first of YRF

 A YRF Spy Universe, that have produced hits like Tiger Zinda Hai, Pathaan, and War has amassed over 3,200 crores at the box office across its previous instalments.  But for all its spectacles – the franchise had never put a woman in Centre- until now.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in lead roles, and marked the first female led film within the blockbuster universe. the both are as powerful operatives navigating a dangerous mission, signaling a shift in how mainstream spy films are being packaged in Bollywood. This film will become an important benchmark for women-led commercial action entertainers in Hindi cinema.

Bollywood praising Alia

The teaser triggered on outpouring of support from across the film industry. Shah Rukh Khan shared his praise through an Instagram story, “Well done Alia, in years from breaking hearts and now to breaking bones, your sill set keeps expanding.” Lord Bobby… you are so good when you are bad!!! “

Salman Khan also reshared the teaser on his Instagram story, and Amitabh Bachchan also shared his support by posting on X , “Love and wishes to my adorable Alia.” Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga noted ferocity of the clip, while Kiara Advani called Alia “Phenomenal “.

Arrival of New Era

The excitement surrounding the project has been amplified because Alpha is the first female fronter chapter in the expanding franchise. For a universe that has long celebrated the heroics of Tiger, Pathaan, the arrival of Sita feels like a cultural milestone- a signal that India’s spy sagas are finally ready to let women lead the charge, not just stand beside it.

Alpha releases worldwide in threatres on 3 July 2026. The film’s background score is composed by Sanchit and Ankit Balhara, frequent collaborators of Yash Raj Films. If the teaser is anything to go by, this wolf’s daughter is more than ready for her mission.
